AS I step into the role of Chair of the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee, I want to pay tribute to Rod Lloyd for the outstanding job he has done over the past two years.

Rod has led the committee through one of the most challenging periods our sector has faced, with the commission disclosure ruling front and centre. His calm leadership, clear thinking and determination to give brokers a strong, united voice were crucial in navigating a defining moment for our industry.

One of Rod’s standout achievements was securing a seat for the Leasing Broker Committee on the main BVRLA Board. This is a real milestone, giving our sector a stronger voice at the highest level and delivering long-term benefit for leasing brokers.

On a personal note, Rod (pictured right) and I have been good friends for some time, and I’ve hugely valued his insight, support and his way of just looking at things with a smile underlined by gritty determination.

Rod leaves the committee in a stronger position than ever, with big shoes to fill. I’m excited to take on the role, bring my own energy, and build on the excellent work already done.

My focus will be on ensuring the leasing broker’s voice is heard loud and clear where it matters most, while continuing to move the industry forward. I’m also looking forward to working closely with Toby Poston, Shashi Maharaj, Hayleigh Morris and the wider BVRLA team as we begin this next chapter.

If and when you see Rod, please do take a moment to thank him for all his hard work and commitment he has shown over the years.

Finally I’d like to wish you all a very happy New Year!

I have a good feeling about 2026.

Vince Pemberton, Chair, BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee and CEO of Rivervale Leasing
