THE number of enquiries to leasing broker marketing advertisements was at an all-time high according to Leasing.com.
The marketing deal aggregator site for leasing brokers said there was a 60% increase in vehicle enquiries compared with September 2020.
The company said that demand for personal leasing and electric vehicles had spiked, suggesting consumers were looking at zero emission alternatives while the fuel forecourts were bereft of fuel.
In September, the industry body SMMT said the electric Tesla Model 3 was the best selling vehicle, while EVs took the biggest market share ever at over 15%.
Paul Harrison, head of strategic partnerships at Leasing.com, said:
“The increasing popularity of EVs is going hand in hand with rising demand for leasing and our business and partners will play a key role in helping the UK to fully transition to net zero motoring. We have big plans for the next 12 months and beyond and look forward to breaking more records.”
