THE Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) has announced the members of its Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) committee.
The committee will serve as a forum for debate about essential fleet issues on LCV operation.
Members of the AFP LCV committee are:
- Committee chair – Stewart Lightbody, deputy chair of the AFP
- Committee vice-chair – Denise Lane of Capita. Julie Summerell – TR Fleet
- Steve Openshaw – Eric Wright
- Steve Winter – Centrica
- Duncan Webb – Royal Mail
- Cliff Lewis – Interserve
- Jo Hammonds – Sanctuary
- Matt Hammond – Altrad
- Lee Rossall – BES Utilities
- Glenn Ewen – Clear Channel.
The LCV committee plans to support members running and operating commercial vehicles by offering best practice and thought leadership on topics including the role of LCVs, operational considerations, legislative requirements, environmental impacts, funding options, driver taxation, vehicle conversions, adoption of telematics, use as pool vehicles and financial considerations during the life of the vehicle.
Committee chair, Lightbody commented:
There are a whole range of issues facing LCV fleets – from the adoption of EV and PHEV technology through to Clean Air Zones and a renewed accent on costs thanks to the economic pressures created by the coronavirus crisis. Our aim is to play an active part in helping the industry tackle these challenges, spreading best practice and making our views known at the highest level.
Other AFP committees are: Electric Vehicle, Low Carbon and Alternative Fuels Committee.
The AFP was formed in March. It merged the Association of Car Fleet Operators (ACFO) and the Institute of Car Fleet Management (ICFM) – and the new committees are part of an entire infrastructure being created around the new organisation.
