ALEX Powel is the new Leasing Director at Carwow Leasey. Alex succeeds Rob Buckland who was in charge of the GRIDSERVE Car Leasing brokerage before Carwow’s purchase in October 2024, and remained as director during the integration process.
Powel, the company’s former Director of Strategy, is now responsible for directing the future of Carwow Leasey, saying that it had been a “full circle moment” having originally identified the opportunity to bring in a dedicated leasing broker into the Carwow platform.
Commenting on his new position as Leasing Director at Carwow, Alex Powel said:
“During 2025 we put systems and processes in place to allow Carwow Leasey respond to growing demand and scale effectively, notably by integrating the leasing broker business into Carwow’s broader marketplace and expanding our sales and fulfilment capabilities.
“By investing in our marketplace product, we have leveraged the strength and reach of the broader Carwow platform to deliver significant growth for our partner brokers in 2025, doubling our lead volumes year over year and validating our strategy. But there’s so much opportunity left to go after.
“All this means we enter 2026 from a position of strength, ready to build on those foundations, grow at pace, and make leasing more accessible and compelling for customers. By deepening links with our OEM, funder, dealer and broker partners, we expect this to be a significant year in the further expansion of Carwow’s leasing business.”
Carwow Leasey was named Fastest Climber at the recent BN25 event showcasing the biggest leasing brokers in the country. The business sold 2,700 leasing contracts last year.
