A NEW entry-level Audi e-tron has been released, featuring a smaller range at a lower price.

Set to sit below the existing e-tron 55 quattro, the new model will be able to cover up to 186 miles on a single charge. This is because the e-tron’s battery is reduced to 71 kWh from 90 kWh.

The e-tron 50 retains its Quattro set-up, with two electric motors producing a combined 230 kW and 540 Nm of torque. Performance times come in at 7.0 seconds 0-62mph, with a limited top speed of 118mph.

Charging will be covered in 30 minutes at ultra-rapid points, with the e-tron Quattro charging at up to 120 kW, the e-tron 55 quattro charges at up to 150 kW.

The new e-tron 50 quattro is expected to prove popular to leasing customers, providing much of the current e-tron’s benefits, but at a reduced cost. Pricing will be announced closer to launch, with deliveries expected early in 2020.
