CARDIFF-based aviation specialist Aermach has chosen Fleet Alliance to launch a highly tax-efficient electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme for its workforce.
The partnership—led by Chris Rowthorn, (pictured above) Fleet Alliance’s recently appointed representative for Wales and the South West—will supply Aermach employees with new EVs, enhancing their benefits package while helping the company reduce its carbon footprint.
Founded in 2017, Aermach specialises in the global sale, lease and exchange of airframe and engine whole assets and components throughout the aviation industry. The business selected Fleet Alliance as a specialist in this area, with a strong track record of setting up suitable salary sacrifice schemes for businesses of all size. Aermach employees have taken delivery of the first EVs with more orders in the pipeline.
Aermach Finance Director, Rhys Evans, said the process had been very straightforward and had been quick and easy to set up within a short space of time.
“Chris Rowthorn was very responsive to our needs as a business and understood completely our objectives in wanting to provide a salary sacrifice scheme for employees to select the latest electric cars.”

Rowthorn, who has more than two decades’ experience in the financial services industry, commented: “Meeting businesses across such a diverse range of sectors is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Aermach epitomises the dynamism of South Wales’ aerospace cluster, and its blue-chip client list speaks for itself. It’s been a pleasure working with the team and helping them add a compelling new benefit for their exceptional staff.
Now part of Global Vehicle Group, Fleet Alliance calculates that leasing an EV through one of its salary sacrifice schemes can save up to 60% of the running costs compared with personal contract hire (PCH), while at the same time not impacting on personal credit lines.
Chris continued: “Electric car salary sacrifice offers huge tax benefits. And, as we competitively tender each salary sacrifice lease across a panel of competitive funders, we can leverage the access to an electric car for our customers and their employees.
Rowthorn recently signed the Business Wales Green Growth Pledge, a voluntary commitment that helps companies embed practical, measurable sustainability actions.
