NO MORE LeasePlan UK; no more ALD Automotive UK. As of today (03 October), both brands are now under the wrapper of Ayvens.
The integration has been a long time coming. ALD Automotive bought LeasePlan for €4.9bn in spring 2023 to create the single largest mobility group in the world.
Since then is has been operating as ALD Automotive | LeasePlan.
But as of today, Ayvens will become the trading name of LeasePlan UK, with ALD Automotive UK following suit in due course.
Ayvens says that by combining the experience and expertise of both legacy businesses, Ayvens will seek to provide UK corporates, SMEs and private individuals with more sustainable mobility solutions. This includes an end-to-end leasing service for cars and commercial vehicles, a suite of fleet management solutions, and a UK-wide salary sacrifice car scheme.
What does Ayvens represent?
With a combined fleet of 3.4 million vehicles worldwide, including one of the world’s largest multi-brand EV fleets, Ayvens is aiming to become the leading global sustainable mobility player. It wants to drive digital transformation across all 42 countries in which it currently operates, improving the everyday life of its customers with a simpler, smarter and more sustainable experience.
Commenting on the brand launch, Tim Laver, Managing Director of Ayvens in the UK, said:
“UK businesses are facing an increasingly complex and highly regulated transport landscape right now, which requires them to re-examine their fleet strategies in order to cut costs and carbon emissions.
“Our scale, sector expertise and insights from our team can not only help our customers to navigate these challenges, but turn them into opportunities for a greener, smarter and more cost-effective operating model.
“The launch of our new brand Ayvens in the UK marks an exciting chapter in our Group’s journey and for fleets across the UK. As a leading player in the mobility sector, we will leverage our position to shape the future of mobility and unlock new possibilities for our customers.”
What about the broker channel?
During the interim period of ALD Automotive | LeasePlan, David McLaughlin has acted as Head of Broker Sales at ALD Automotive, while Mike Thompson – Sales Director Indirect SME – headed up the larger LeasePlan broker partner channel.
David announced his intention to leave the business three months ago for a new leadership opportunities, leaving Mike in charge of the combined ALD/LeasePlan channel. However, there has been no official confirmation that Mike will head up the new Ayvens broker channel.
