Why did Nationwide win Best Innovation in Broking Awards?
The judging panel loved Nationwide’s ongoing focus on innovation – one of the broker’s core values – as well as its use of artificial intelligence (AI). But what really impressed the judges is that every innovation is driven by Nationwide’s desire to create the optimal customer experience.
Whilst artificial intelligence is certainly implemented into all of our futures, utilising this within the broker world is truly innovative. Nationwide Vehicle Contracts is taking the customer centric approach to the next level.

Within the company’s award entry, Nationwide stood out for demonstrating excellence across a number of key areas:
Innovative use of AI
Nationwide recently launched a new bespoke artificial intelligence (AI) tool, developed in partnership with GM AI Foundry and the University of Salford. The tool enables the business to use data-driven insights to predict the most appropriate vehicle renewal options and deliver personalised recommendations.
By continuously analysing customer data and feedback, the aim is to deliver an unparalleled level of customer service and satisfaction. The judges called Nationwide’s AI tool ‘an excellent forward-thinking concept.’
Ongoing innovation
Nationwide has consistently invested in innovative ways to deliver on its customer service promise. The judges were impressed with new services the business has introduced, such as Help2Lease – a scheme to get young drivers on the road. Nationwide has also developed bespoke in-house technology – including stock and customer feedback systems which flag potential issues in real-time.
Customer-centric approach
The panel liked the fact that innovation at Nationwide always has the customer experience at the heart of it – and that is what has driven the latest AI innovation.
One judge commented “I’m looking forward to seeing how Nationwide can harness the output to ensure the data shapes a better customer experience.” The judges noted that Nationwide’s customer centric approach is paying off, with the business being awarded a second consecutive Feefo Platinum Trusted Service award this year.
We are thrilled to win the Broker News award for Best Innovation in Broking 2023. Innovation has always been at the heart of our business, and our new AI tool is just one of the exciting developments we have planned over the coming year to enhance our competitiveness, efficiency, and sustainability.
