About the winner
The lcv group began life as Low Cost Vans in 1999. The company started with just two employees and is now one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial vehicles. The business rebranded in 2022 to the lcv group, to better reflect its expanded offering – which includes cars, fleet services and flexible hire. The lcv group has recently invested in new, larger premises in Swansea and serves both businesses and private individuals.
Why did the lcv group win Best Mid-Size Broker?
There was strong competition in this category with an incredible three finalists tying for second place. But the winner’s spot went to the lcv group.
The panel summarised the win, saying:
‘The lcv group is impressive. It has gone through a new branding project and split its propositions into several different arms. It has also moved into a new office space and adapted it for both customers and employees. The business has many 5-star reviews and great customer feedback.’
Employee investment
The judges loved the lcv group’s culture and ‘people powered’ motto which they said underpins its excellent customer feedback. The move to new premises has enabled the business to improve employee wellbeing through the provision of multi-faith rooms, a relaxation space (and moss walls!) plus free parking. The lcv group was also awarded the Investors in People accreditation last year. One judge commented:
‘The lcv group stand out above most but above all the culture created and working environment is excellent. Bravo.’
Continuous business improvement
The lcv group’s focus on continually enhancing its offering impressed the panel. Following the rebrand, the business launched a new website in August last year to improve the customer journey and the internal order management process. Its new premises has also allowed the business to expand its vehicle hire offering thanks to more space on site.
ESG focus
ESG is key to the lcv group, which the judges described as ‘super value add’. It has a dedicated environmental team of volunteers entitled to take time off to focus on reducing the business’ footprint. The panel also applauded the lcv group’s ongoing charity focus – the business raises thousands of pounds throughout the year, supporting campaigns such as ‘Everyone Deserves a Christmas’.
“The lcv group is delighted to have been named Best Mid-size Broker. It has been an exciting year for the company, during which we relocated to a major new complex and further expanded our team. We have maintained our high standards throughout, and this award is testament to everyone’s hard work. We will continue in our commitment to being 'people powered' and would like to thank Broker News for the recognition.”
