About the winner
Hertfordshire-based Greenfleets was founded in 2008 by Stephen Greenstreet. Stephen’s background is in asset finance and vehicle leasing, he also ran his own asset finance brokerage. When demand for vehicle leasing started to grow, Stephen set up Greenfleets.
The business continues to grow year-on-year supported by customer retention rates of over 90%. In fact, the broker’s excellence in the sector sees it winning the title for the second successive year.
Why did Greenfleets win Best Small Broker?
The small broker category was hotly contested. The panel said Greenfleets’ ability to build lasting customer relationships, combined with its impact in the local community gave them a win for the second successive year, commenting:
‘A clear focus on retention and building lasting relationships set Greenfleets’ nomination apart from the competition. The company is clearly highly valued by its funder partners too.’
Customer relationships
Greenfleets’ appetite for great customer relationships ‘over the straight up hunt for volume’ was called out by the judges. Whilst the business has customers across the UK, it also operates at a local level to ‘really cement the relationship’. The supplied client testimonials were also impressive.
Focus on the community
Greenfleets supports its local community through a number of ongoing sponsorships and associations, which include Tring Rugby Club, Ian Rennie Hospice and Aylesbury Vale Dynamos. The panel was impressed with the breadth of support, especially given the size of the business. One judge commented:
‘A broker who focuses on their local business and community, great to see this and the charitable endeavours. I am sure that is reflected in the loyalty of their customer base.’
Excellent funder relationships
The judges noted that Greenfleets is clearly valued by its funders, noting its partnership approach and focus on how it impacts the lender. Greenfleets was also named as Alphabet GB’s top broker for the year in 2023; Alphabet’s testimonial noted its ‘consistent professionalism and proficiency’.
“We’re honoured and delighted to have won the Broker News Best Small Broker award for the second year running. It is a fantastic achievement for us as a company and great recognition for all of the team at Greenfleets. To receive this award from the expert panel of judges really highlights our continued commitment to this industry and to deliver excellent service and advice to all of our customers.”
