BRISTOL broker Bluepoppy Vehicle Solutions is increasing its support of grassroots sport with sponsorship of Somerset team Banwell FC Ladies.
While Banwell FC has three senior mens’ teams, and a comprehensive youth set up, this is the first year it will field a ladies team.
Bluepoppy is a significant supporter of sport in the west and south-west, from elite sport through to grassroots, including Gloucestershire County Cricket, Bristol Bears Rugby, Bristol City FC and Bristol Rovers FC.
However, MD Paul Watts-Barnes says that, despite such a high profile in elite sports, it’s at the local grassroots club level where the broker receives most recognition.
“While it’s brilliant to be associated with clubs playing top-end sport, our investment in grassroots is greatly satisfying.
“Our three years of support for our local Lodway Cricket Club has ssen its first team promoted three times, and membership grown by more than 200%.”
Such visibility has helped the brokerage – and its sister recruitment business Bluepoppy Recruitment Solutions – to greater commercial success, says Watts-Barnes, which in turn has helped further investment.
This success has driven us to increase our backing of local sport. So you will find the Bluepoppy logo at Lodway FC, Keynsham Cricket Club and, most recently, Banwell FC Ladies team which have successfully launched and gained a slot in the Somerset County League, Division One.
