THE replacement for that leasing broker favourite ā€“ the Vauxhall Mokka ā€“ is undergoing a variety of final testing trials.

From the Arctic Circle to a German handling course designed to replicate every road type in Europe, a disguised Mokka is being made retail ready.

The car is based on Vauxhall’sā€™s CMP multi-energy platform (Common Modular Platform), which allows the use of purely battery-electric drive as well as internal combustion engines from the same platform.

The new Mokka weighs up to 120 kilograms less than the previous model – with almost the same wheelbase and tyre sizes.

The electric Mokka-e features batteries installed deep in the vehicle floor, which lowers the centre of gravity and at the same time increases torsional rigidity by a further 30 per cent.

Build is due to start at the end of the year with the new Mokka available to order from early 2021.
