WOMEN in Broking are front and centre for International Women’s Day this year, thanks to a Broker News podcast for the BVRLA’s Inside Track series.
Broker News has worked with the BVRLA to create the podcast to showcase the careers of some of the exceptional women in broking. The broadcast was hosted by Broker News editor Ralph Morton with a panel of leading brokers – Sam Ward from Vans Direct, Laura Muir of Fleet Alliance and Harmoto’s Hannah-Louise Kirkpatrick.
The 25-minute podcast, available from Friday (08 March 2024) was incredibly positive about working in broking and being a female in a traditionally male environment. Topics covered include:
- Current state of play in the broker sector – delays in customer purchasing decisions, electric vehicle and van take-up and the need for EV education
- What it’s like to be a female working in broking – increasing inclusivity and gender balance and the need for the industry to better market the opportunities available
- Advice for a career in broking – the breadth of roles available, the importance of network and learning your trade
The podcast is available to download from the BVRLA website and all usual providers, including Spotify, Apple podcasts and Google.
The Women in Broking feature now has its own specific section on Broker News with our latest features. It can be reached at: Women in Broking.
