It’s not the reduced grant that will stop UK going EV…
…It’s the lack of supply. While manufacturers have reacted with a degree of pleasing urgency to reduce the list price of vehicles just above £35k to just below the tidemark for grant qualification, there appears to be another issue on the horizon: getting hold of electric cars.
Fleet Procure has delved into its procurement intelligence over Q1 to suggest that, while the grant cut caused a hiccup in demand, it has now gone on the climb again. If you can wait until Q4 that is. So, OEMs, you’ve made the right moves on pricing, now let’s get the cars on the road too.
