IN a strategic move to strengthen its leadership capabilities, the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) has promoted Thomas McLennan to the newly created position of Director of Policy and Public Affairs.

McLennan, who has been with the BVRLA for over four years, brings a wealth of experience to the role. He initially joined the association as a Senior Policy Advisor and later became Head of Policy and Public Affairs, overseeing all policy initiatives and leading the BVRLA’s engagement with key stakeholders.

In his new role, McLennan will continue to collaborate closely with Toby Poston, the BVRLA’s Director of Corporate Affairs.

Gerry Keaney, Chief Executive of the BVRLA, expressed his confidence in McLennan’s leadership, stating: “Tom’s promotion strengthens our senior management team, adding valuable leadership as we navigate an evolving business landscape, support our members, and work closely with the Government on its ambitious decarbonisation targets and green agenda.”

McLennan will lead a talented team comprising Rachael Hewish, Catherine Bowen, and Zohra Chagani in the Policy and Public Affairs department.

The BVRLA said this strategic promotion underscored its commitment to proactive policy engagement and effective public affairs management amidst a rapidly changing industry landscape.
