THE BVRLA has confirmed a series of governance changes designed to improve transparency, strengthen representation and give members a greater role in shaping the Association’s future direction.
The changes were approved by members at the Association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), where a special resolution was passed to adopt new Articles of Association. The updated Articles modernise the BVRLA’s structure and decision-making processes.
In keeping with the association’s established cycle for appointing its Chairs and Vice Chairs, the BVRLA has also confirmed Ryan Johnson, Senior Vice President for Enterprise Mobility across UK and Ireland, as the Association’s new Vice Chair. Johnson will succeed current Chair Lakshmi Moorthy in 2027.
“These changes mark an important step forward for the Association. Our sector is evolving rapidly, and it is essential that the BVRLA’s governance structure evolves with it. The new framework gives members a stronger voice, improves transparency and ensures we are better equipped to respond to the challenges and opportunities facing fleet, leasing and rental operators.”
Ryan Johnson, Vice Chair of the BVRLA (left), said: “The BVRLA plays a critical role in representing the interests of our sector during a period of significant change. Our membership is strongest when the rental and leasing sectors work together effectively and I am pleased to take on the role of Vice Chair. I look forward to working with the Board, committees and wider membership to represent BVRLA members and champion collaboration across the association.”
Further committee updates include the appointment of Matt Rumble, CEO at Kinto UK as Chair of the Leasing and Fleet Management Committee. The committee helps guide the association’s sector-specific work on policy, operational standards and member engagement and sits alongside the Commercial Vehicle, Rental, and Leasing Broker committees.
The revised governance structure has been developed to ensure the BVRLA remains representative of its membership base while enabling faster, more transparent decision-making and greater member participation.
The new governance arrangements support closer collaboration between members, committees and the Board, while reinforcing the Association’s role as the leading voice for the vehicle rental, leasing and fleet management sector.
