JAY Parmar has been announced as the new chief executive of the Joint Industry Board for the Electrical Contracting Industry (JIB).

Due to start on October 01, 2019, Jay will replace Steve Brawley who retires after 11 years in the role.

Familiar to so many of those in the vehicle leasing industry, Jay moves to the JIC from his role as director of policy and membership at the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA).

An experienced legal professional, Jay has experience in negotiation, business planning, and member engagement. With the BVRLA, he was hugely respected. He was responsible for campaigns and policy work, representing the industry at national and European level. Jay joined the BVRLA as a Legal Assistant in 2000 and became a director in 2011.

Speaking of his appointment, Jay said: “I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to lead the JIB team and am looking forward to working with colleagues, members, partners, and stakeholders with a key interest in this dynamic and vibrant sector, to ensure that JIB continues to deliver a first class service.

“My focus will be to ensure that the organisation remains at the forefront of the industry’s fast pace of change; supporting members and further strengthening the value of membership.”

BVRLA Chief Executive Gerry Keaney said: “Jay has been a much-valued member of the senior management team at the BVRLA, representing our industry on a national and EU level.

“His contribution during the past two decades has helped to drive our industry forward and his commitment to delivering the highest industry standards has supported our members through times of unprecedented change and challenge. On behalf of all members of the BVRLA family, please join me in congratulating Jay and wishing him every success in his new role.”

We would also like to add our best wishes to Jay – and to thank him for all his support – from all of us here at Broker News.
