CEO of the BVRLA, Toby Poston, took the opportunity presented by the Broker News Awards on 23 April to present the Freddie Aldous Lifetime Achievement award to Rod Lloyd.
Originally presented at the BVRLA dinner on 04 April 2026, Rod was unfortunately unable to attend that event.
So instead, Toby presented Rod with the beautiful wine decanter in front of his broker and industry peers at the Coq d’Argent restaurant prior to the Broker News Awards 2026.
Toby paid tribute to Rod’s unselfish and unstinting efforts to help leasing brokers and the BVRLA in the aftermath of the Court of Appeal decision on motor finance.
“At a time when he could have looked to himself and his own business, at a time when leasing broker livelihoods were potentially under threat, Rod threw himself selflessly into answering the hundreds of questions that came his way as the then Chair of the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee and helped navigate us all through those very troubled times.”
Since then Rod has gone onto sell his the lcv group brokerage in early 2025 to the Global Vehicle Group and acted as a consultant until October. He is now looking to be actively involved in the industry
In the 2025 Broker News Awards, Rod Lloyd was presented with the Editor’s Award for his services to leasing brokers.
The Broker News Awards 2026 were supported by Headline Partner BYD.
