BYD has announced its continued sponsorship of the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association Annual Dinner for the second successive year. The prestigious black-tie event will take place on 05 March 5, 2025, at a new location, the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
BYD said its sponsorship of the event reinforced its commitment to the UK rental, fleet management, and leasing sectors, and provided a platform to showcase its expanding range of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. The company says it aims to raise awareness of its eco-friendly offerings for the UK markets and will have its 10-strong UK fleet team on hand to provide product and service expertise.
In just under two years, BYD has made significant strides in the UK, launching three fully electric vehicles: the BYD ATTO 3, BYD Dolphin, and BYD Seal, along with its first plug-in hybrid, the SealL U DM-i. The all-electric Sealion 7 is also set to arrive in the UK imminently. This rapid expansion is reflected in impressive sales figures, with BYD selling over 4,000 vehicles in the fleet and business channel in 2024, a remarkable 500% increase compared to 2023, and was third fastest growing OEM in January’s car sales figures.
The BVRLA Annual Dinner is a key event in the industry calendar, attracting over 800 attendees, including BVRLA members and senior stakeholders. The evening will feature the presentation of the Industry Hero Awards and the Freddie Aldous Outstanding Contribution Award, entertainment from comedian and broadcaster Tom Allen, and fundraising for Ben, the automotive industry charity.
