CHINESE brands are winning over salary sacrifice choosers with a threefold rise in popularity, according to salary sacrifice experts The Electric Car Scheme.

The leasing brokers says it is expecting orders for BYD models to rise 300% in 2025, as the lower cost and narrowing technology gap to other manufacturers takes effect.

Among the BYD models on offer to salary sacrifice takes, The Electric Car Scheme has these well-priced BYD models:

  • Seal, Atto (available from £358 per month),
  • Dolphin (£298 per month)
  • and the Sealion 7 (£478 per month)

Alongside BYD – which was the Headline Partner of the Broker News Awards 2025 – expanding its range of models, there’s Ora, Omoda, Jaecoo, XPeng, Haval and a range of other manufacturers coming to UK roads in 2025.

“It is no surprise that Chinese EVs which are more affordable than rivals and equipped with modern and high spec technology are becoming more popular. We know that affordability is the biggest barrier to getting into an electric car for the majority of Brits so cheaper alternatives will be a welcome addition to the journey of reaching Net Zero and Zero Emission Vehicle goals. Whether it be a Seal, Dolphin or Sealion it is clear that these models are here to stay and play their part in the cars of the future.”
