A NEW digital showroom experience is expected to shake up how leasing firms and dealerships interact with customers. Launched in the United States, Cadillac Live allows customers to enter a digital showroom to view features and specifications of different models.

A live product specialist is on hand to talk things through and answer questions, and they are equipped with a smartphone and gimbal for video calls. This enables customers to see the vehicle and speak to an expert from their own home.

That expert also has a an interface to share information with the potential client, such as vehicle specifications, colours, and accessory options. Sessions can be scheduled in or carried out on-demand, and multi-caller meetings are possible.

With increasing numbers of drivers researching their potential cars online, before speaking to a dealership or leasing broker, this new set-up allows a blend of personal and digital experiences. Although only available at a few locations in the US, should the trial go as well as expected, it surely won’t be long until we see similar features offered this side of the pond.
