THIS is the all-new Toytota Yaris supermini.
The fourth generation Fiesta/Corsa rival will be powered by a new 1.5-litre three-cylinder hybrid engine.
Toyota says the new hybrid unit is 20% more efficient and can drive in urban conditions for longer in electric only mode. CO2 emissions are 85g/km.
The styling of the Mk4 is certainly more aggressive than the current model with a wider and lower vehicle stance.
The new Yaris is built on the company’s modular GA-B platform based on Toyota New Global Architecture – TNGA – which also underpins the Corolla.
Toyota Europe said about the new car:
It has been designed to be agile on crowded and confined urban streets, reflected in its compact proportions and class-leading, tight turning circle, while at the same time providing a spacious, comfortable and high-quality interior with equipment specifications that meet all today’s customer priorities for connectivity and seamless access to information.
Toyota GB promises to release full details and specifications of the UK model by Friday, 31 July.
