GLOBAL Vans continues on the acquisition trail with its most significant purchase to date: Glasgow-based fleet management leasing broker Fleet Alliance.

Fleet Alliance – winner of the Best SME Fleet Broker in the 2025 Broker News Awards – now joins XLCR Vehicle Management and the lcv group and as part of the growing Global Vehicle Group which now becomes the largest and most diverse B2B broker in the UK.

The acquisition of Fleet Alliance provides the group with a substantial spread of ability across the key sectors in the market, from commercial vehicles and personal leasing deals to fleet management, SME sales and salary sacrifice. Customers range from one to 1,000+ unit fleets.

According to the group, the enlarged business will have annual volumes of around 18,000 units and an aggregate fleet size of over 70,000 vehicles with a total funded value of over £2.5bn.

However, all business units within the group will continue to operate independently while benefiting from group synergies, according to Andrew Hurst, CEO of the Global Vehicle Group.

“We are immensely proud to welcome Fleet Alliance into the Global Vehicle Group. Fleet Alliance’s core area of expertise in the SME and larger corporate space will give the group complete coverage of the B2B sector and will complement the existing group businesses perfectly. Whilst each business shares the same philosophy of creating a positive and supportive team culture and a focus on outstanding customer experience, there will be significant areas where the power of the enlarged group can be leveraged in terms of best practice and providing a wider range of products and services to our customers.”

Created in 2002 by founders Allen and Marjory Flynn along with current Chair Martin Brown, Fleet Alliance has grown to become one of the most respected broker brands in the business, with a highly regarded management team, strong governance and decarbonisation policies, having recently attained carbon neutral status. It’s the most significant acquisition by the Global Vehicle Group.

Martin Brown on unintended consequences“We are delighted to become part of the Global Vehicle Group family,” commented Martin Brown, Chair, Fleet Alliance. “We have the utmost respect for Global Vans, XLCR and the lcv group and we look forward to working alongside them to continue the development of the Fleet Alliance business as part of the largest B2B focused leasing broker in the UK.”
