ELECTRIC van expert Paul Kirby has been brought in as external advisor to FleetCheck’s new eLCV initiative.
The fleet software company has launched a consultancy resource, which will see Kirby work across a variety of projects with the team.
Kirby, who recently left Vanarama to form his own EV Essentials company, will contribute to a book-length guide for FleetCheck customers with electric vans.
Peter Golding, managing director at FleetCheck, said: “There is widespread interest in van electrification among our users and we have formulated a new strategy to meet their needs.
“We have started a new programme of enhancements to our software to add to its functionality for eLCV operators and that work will be ongoing over the next few years.
“In addition, we will be providing consultancy on everything from electric van acquisition through to range management and running costs to driver training.
“We’re very pleased to be able to include Paul in this initiative. He is arguably the country’s foremost expert in the eLCV arena, and brings a huge amount of knowledge.
“One of the first projects that we are undertaking with him will be the creation of a new book-length eLCV guide for fleet operators, which we hope to release before the end of the year.”
Kirby has 25 years’ leasing experience, and before joining Vanarama in May 2020 was head of commercial vehicles at broker funder LeasePlan.
