CONGRATULATIONS to Gofor for taking on Edinburgh’s Kiltwalk to raise funds for its charity of the year, Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH).
The Gofor team, pictured above, comprised (left to right) Gordon Ross – Head of Marketing, Business Development Executive Darren Woodall and Paul Gordon, Head of Sales.
The Kiltwalk took place on Sunday, 15th September, under unusually blue Scottish skies. The walk covered 20 miles around Edinburgh, Gofor’s home city, ending at the iconic Murrayfield Stadium. Kiltwalk is Scotland’s largest mass participation walking event, with over 145,000 people taking part since 2016.
The Gofor team completed the walk in five hours 45 minutes and has raised £575 for SAMH to date, with donations still coming in. The funds will add to the £4,600 already raised for the charity since Gofor announced its support earlier this year.
SAMH is a leading mental health charity, providing support and services for those affected by mental health problems.
Gordon Ross, Head of Marketing for Gofor, said:
‘First and foremost, a big thank you to everyone who donated. Plus a thank you to our CEO, Graham Lesslie, who has pledged that Gofor will match our final donation. We fundraised for Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH), and research shows the positive impact that walking outdoors can have on mental health. And, of course, it doesn’t have to be as intense as a 20-mile trek! The Kiltwalk was a great event, brilliantly organised and something Darren, Paul and I were incredibly proud to be a part of.’
The official fundraising JustGiving page remains open here for anyone wishing to add their support for SAMH.
