CHINESE car maker ORA, a division of Great Wall Motor, will partner with International Motors’ subsidiary IM NEV from its headquarters in Solihull, West Midlands.

International Motors is already the distributor for Subaru and Isuzu in the UK, and also runs the parts and service business for the now defunct Mitsubishi Motors.

The company has past history with GWM. It also imported the Great Wall Steed pick up in 2012, the first volume Chinese brand in the UK.

The first GWM ORA vehicle to be launched by the International Motors’ subsidiary will be the ORA Funky Cat First Edition capable of 193 miles on a charge.

The GWM ORA range  is planned to grow with the introduction of a larger battery variant and additional trim levels. Other vehicles in the GWM range may also be added, such as the GWM Wey Coffee 01 SUV PHEV.

We are proud to be the official UK partner for this exciting new pure electric car brand, GWM ORA.

Toby went on to say: “The UK team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to enable a smooth launch later this year, and we will have lots of exciting news to share very soon. Already, we have had overwhelming interest in the ORA brand and there is no doubt that it will play a pivotal role in accelerating the UK’s transition to a more sustainable future.”

GWM ORA UK said that the first batch of vehicles had been placed on transporter ships and were on their way from Shanghai to the UK for delivery later this year.

Mr. YaoFei, vice president of Great Wall Motor Europe added:

“GWM ORA is excited to be partnering with IM NEV to represent the brand in the UK, bringing true value to its customers. Their automotive expertise will play a crucial role as we develop both the GWM ORA brand and product portfolio and I look forward to seeing GWM ORA vehicles on UK roads very soon.”

This partnership will strengthen our ambitions to bring a fresh new approach to electric mobility.

IM NEV said it would announce its first retail partner for the brand soon, with plans to achieve national coverage by the end of 2022. It added that ORA products will be available to purchase through an online sales platform, with delivery to a customer’s home or work address included.

IM NEV said that the Chinese made GWM ORA would deliver a “a premium EV experience”.
