HYUNDAI Motor UK has recorded the largest annual growth of any manufacturer for True Fleet sales during 2021.

Driven by a broad line-up of electric and electrified models, Hyundai has seen 104% year-on-year growth for True Fleet sales, with a number of new models launched in the last 12 months.

The likes of the Ioniq 5 pure-EV, Tucson Plug-in Hybrid, and Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid have arrived in significant numbers in the UK, bolstering an alternative-fuel range that already included the likes of the Kona hybrid and EV, Ioniq hybrid, PHEV, and EV – plus the Nexo FCEV.

A long range from both Kona Electric and new Ioniq 5, supported by high-power charging capabilities, has seen Hyundai’s pure-electric mix increase significantly, particularly in fleet and SME sectors.

The latest plug-in hybrids in the Tucson and Santa Fe model line-ups include an electric-only range of nearly 40 miles on a charge, contributing to BIK rates of just 11% for company car drivers.

For the past two years, we have been working to actively build our fleet database, to completely overhaul the buying and research experience for our fleet customers and to introduce countless new innovations that will offer them a hassle-free ownership experience.

These figures are a welcome endorsement for a team that has completely transformed the way our brand interacts with company car buyers, and we know that this is the first step in our long-term strategy for growth. More exciting new models are coming, all of which will deliver the blend of desirability, practicality and value-for-money that has helped achieve sustained growth in the True Fleet market.

Tim White, head of fleet, Hyundai Motor UK

Hyundai is targeting further success this year and beyond, with the last 12 months being a 25% increase on end user policy agreements, and more than a third of those new customers either bought a car or had one on order.
