HYUNDAI Motor has issued positive news in a 2022 outlook briefing, saying that the lack of semiconductors – which has plagued all OEMs on a global scale – will stablise for the Korean car maker by Q2.

Hyundai said semiconductor availability had been improving since December but production would be hampered during Q1 but would “gradually stabilise during the second quarter”.

The company said it would strengthen its EV lineup by launching GV60, Electrified GV70, and IONIQ 6 in line with increasing consumer preferences for eco-friendly models, expansion of investment in eco- infrastructure, and strict environmental regulations around the globe.

The statement also said that Hyundai would focus on enhancing its product mix with SUV and luxury models and securing profitability based on cost innovation to become a leader in the future mobility industry despite the challenging business environment.
