JLR’s subscription service, Carpe, has been rebranded Pivotal as the OEM attempts to provide a more flexible Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) offering.
Whereas Carpe offered subscribers a 12-month unlimited mileage single-payment subscription to a Jaguar or Land Rover model with no deposit, Pivotal now offers greater convenience with a 90 day minimum term, flexibility of payments and vehicle on a month-by-month basis.
However, Pivotal cars will not be new vehicles but ‘fresh’ vehicles sourced from JLR dealers. All are guaranteed to be under 24 months’ old.
There is a one time joining fee of £550, with an allowance of 1500 miles a month. The monthly subscription rentals include insurance and maintenance. Subscribers can swap cars after six months or pay an early upgrade fee after three months. There is also the option to pause a subscription.
What are the Pivotal subscription bands?
- Blue is £750 a month – cars in this band are Land Rover Discovery Sport, Jaguar F-Pace or Range Rover Evoque
- Indigo is £1150 a month – cars in this band are Jaguar I-Pace, Range Rover Velar, or Land Rover Discovery.
- Violet is £1350 a month – Range Rover Sport is included in this subscription level
- Ultraviolet is £1600 a month – this provides access to a Range Rover
Isobel Dando, managing director of Pivotal said:
The world is changing, and Jaguar Land Rover is changing with it. Traditional car ownership may not provide the flexibility required by some in the modern world, and with Pivotal we are able to offer an alternative, premium option. Our customers love driving and a subscription gives members a chance to experience living with different vehicles – whether their priority is lower-emissions, advanced safety technologies, versatility or design, Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles have plenty to offer.
Pivotal is backed by InMotion Ventures – Jaguar Land Rover’s venture capital and mobility services arm.
