CONGRATULATIONS to John Fraser who has moved from Europcar to VIP Gateway as its Senior Procurement Manager.
John brings with him a strong hand in procurement after more than four years in the role at the Europcar Mobility Group, latterly as Senior Fleet Procurement Manager.
“In my rental role I would buy 25,000 cars and vans a year, probably in six deals,” explained John. “But it was the odd 5,000 or so that weren’t on the agenda that really interested me.
“But with leasing brokers that sort of deal is happening every month, and that’s what appealed to joining VIP Gateway.
“That ability to buy volume at a quicker pace is really energising. At VIP we can commit to things quickly. And that’s what the OEMs like because we’re dynamic and come back quickly to them. We’re supporting OEMs in their growth aspirations and the deals are helping VIP Gateway grow as well.”
John now forms part of the pricing team, with his role holding the external relationships and an internal team of six pricing managers analysing the potential deals and benchmarking through the brokerage’s funders.
