LEASE deal aggregator site Leasing.com has published its 2025 Insights Report for cars and vans, revealing how leasing demand shifted over the last 12 months.

Hybrid enquiries more than double as petrol and diesel demand falls
More drivers are choosing electric and hybrid vehicles over traditional petrol and diesel car models.
- Petrol car enquiries fall to 41.0% (down from 50.0% in 2024)
- EV enquiries climb to 34.1% (up from 26.2%)
- Hybrid enquiries jump to 22.8% (up from 10.7%)
- Diesel drops to 2.1% of car enquiries (down from 6.4%)
This growth reflects both the expanding availability of EV and PHEV models and the increasing adoption of low-emission vehicles across the market, as more manufacturers introduce electrified options.
Ford Puma overtakes rivals as the UK’s most enquired about EV
- Ford Puma: 5.8%
- Polestar 4: 4.7%
- Leapmotor C10: 4.3%
- Tesla Model 3: 3.7%
- BMW i4: 3.6%
“A wider model choice in 2025 has allowed new vehicles to enter the top five, supported by improvements in battery efficiency and a stronger charging network. With competition increasing across the market, we can expect the ranking of top EVs to continue evolving over the year ahead.”
