CHINESE automotive giant Chery will launch a fourth brand in the UK later this year called Lepas – a combination of ‘Leopard’, ‘Leap’ and ‘Passion’.
Launched in Europe last year, the first model on sale was the L8 (pictured) a mid-sized SUV. Other models will be the L4 and L6, so far all hybrids designed for the European market.
Chery launched its Omoda and Jaecoo brands to the UK in 2024 and 2025 and the Jaecoo 7 in particular had been a runaway success, getting the largest volume of enquiries across the Carwow platform in 2025. The Chery brand was launched last summer.
In the next few weeks there will be a phased introduction outlining leadership appointments and retailer plans.
