Lex Autolease has become the first broker funder to launch content on the British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association’s (BVRLA’s) new Learning Management System (LMS).

The LMS, which the BVRLA has developed in collaboration with funders and leasing brokers, aims to raise standards across the industry by creating a baseline learning framework.

It brings together common standards, regulatory requirements and best practice in one place, while still allowing brokers to retain their own specialist training.

Lex Autolease has worked closely with the BVRLA throughout the development of the initiative and will be the first organisation to launch content onto the platform as part of the wider programme rollout.

Steve Cocks, Head of Broker at Lex Autolease, said: “One of the strengths of our industry is the willingness of competitors, brokers and funders to come together when there is an opportunity to improve standards and customer outcomes.

“This initiative is about establishing a common foundation of knowledge that everyone can build upon. By creating greater consistency in core learning, we can help ensure customers receive clear, accurate and informed guidance, whilst reducing some of the duplication that exists across the sector today.

“We are proud to be the first funder to support the launch and hope this will act as a catalyst for wider industry collaboration in the years ahead.”

Mark Pow, Head of Learning & Development at the BVRLA, said:  “Our new Learning Management System is another example of where the BVRLA is investing in digital solutions to help raise industry standards. Its launch marks another significant milestone in our journey to elevate competence and professionalism across the leasing broker sector.

“By bringing funders’ learning and compliance materials together within the BVRLA platform, we’re reducing duplication and moving towards a truly unified industry framework that benefits funders, brokers and, ultimately, customers.

“I’d like to personally thank Steve Cocks and Shelley Richardson for their continued commitment and leadership. Their support has been invaluable in helping drive higher standards across the industry. It is exciting to see Lex Autolease being the first to go live on the new platform, with others set to follow shortly.”

The longer-term ambition extends beyond compliance and regulatory learning. The BVRLA intends to develop a broader portfolio of on-demand learning resources that members can access through a single platform.

Over time, this could provide individuals and organisations with easier access to industry knowledge, professional development opportunities and specialist training tailored to their particular roles and responsibilities.
