LOW Cost Vans is assisting four Welsh rugby legends known as the Fab Four in their rugby heyday – Mike Phillips, Shane Williams, Lee Byrne and James Hook – with their new business venture.
Having left behind the oval ball, the four are now chasing the oval bean with a brand new coffee business, named the FabFour Coffee.
The former Ospreys, Wales and British Lions players set up the business at the end of 2020 with a focus on providing excellent coffee – something which the quartet had enjoyed between games – turning their coffee passion into a business.
Nevertheless, a fledgling business always needs a helping hand, and that’s where Rod Lloyd has stepped in, with the assistance of a Ford Transit Custom van. The van is currently being fitted out with a coffee machine in the back so the business can service coffee at events and markets.
I’m always supportive of local businesses, especially if it’s rugby-related, so I am very keen for the Fab Four to succeed. They’ve come from a high pressure playing environment and they are now stepping into another high pressure environment to develop their new business. I’m sure it will succeed – and the van will help them stay ahead of the game.

The Fab Four, having launched the coffee business just before Christmas, will also be donating a percentage of their profits to the cancer charity Velindre Fundraising.
James Hook added:
“We’re so pleased with our new Transit Custom – it’s exactly what we were looking for to support our new business venture and we can’t wait to get it out on the road. Everyone here at FabFour Coffee would like to extend our thanks to everyone at Low Cost Vans for sorting us out so quickly.”
Low Cost Vans is currently running a competition on the social media platform Instagram to win a brand new Ford Transit Custom van. The Neath-based commercial vehicle broker says it has seen an 88% rise in followers as a result of the activity in a LinkedIn post (below):
