MERCEDES-BENZ South West has continued to support its broker and funder partners by delivering cars throughout the coronavirus lockdown.
The City West Country owned group reported that a combination of careful planning and the creation of a responsible delivery programme allowed it to prioritise key workers. Contact throughout car preparation, delivery and handover was minimised to reduce risk of infection transmission.
In April Mercedes-Benz South West delivered 232 units (a combination of April and Q1 registrations); in May volume was almost doubled to 404 units; and current month forecasts suggest it is on course to deliver over 600 by the end of June.
Joe Oxley, head of fleet, commented:
“I’m proud to say we’ve worked consistently in the broker sector by setting as many deals live as possible. Not only will we deliver in excess of 1200 units in Q2, we sold 303 in April, 551 in May, and look set to sell over 800 in June, taking our Q2 order take to over 1650. We value our broker relationships and such volume is a reflection of our commitment to the sector.”
Oxley said the A-class hatch was the best-selling model during the period, followed by the GLC SUV and the CLA Coupe.
