MERCEDES-BENZ Retail Group has appointed Angela Shepherd as its new UK CEO, bringing with her almost 30 years’ experience to the position. Angela will work the retail group’s 18 dealerships, overseeing operations in the sites located in and around London.
Having originally joined Mercedes-Benz UK as a graduate trainee in 1990, Angela took up her first management position as head of franchising 10 years later. This saw her heavily involved in the planning and restructuring of the Mercedes Benz passenger car network, which established the manufacturer-owned Retail Group.
Angela makes the move to UK CEO having spend the past five years as network operations director. Her extensive experience has seen Angela top the sales category in Autocar/SMMT’s list of the top 100 British women in the automotive industry. As Mercedes-Benz gets ready for a number of electrified EQ models due in the next few years, Angela reckons that there are exciting time ahead for the Group’s retailers.
Angela said:
“Although I’ve always worked within the manufacturer, I couldn’t imagine not being involved with retailers on a daily basis so this opportunity was just too good to refuse. With the new showroom architecture, new products and changing consumer demands, we have the chance to shape a business and prepare it for the challenges ahead with a team that performs to the highest level and is proud to work for the Mercedes-Benz Retail Group under the Daimler umbrella.”
