BYD to reveal eight new cars at Goodwood Festival of Speed
BYD Group will bring no fewer than eight new car debuts to the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026 which takes place 9-12 July 2026. The debuts from BYD, the Headline Partner for the Broker News Awards 2026, range from global reveals to UK releases.
Taking centre stage at the event will be premium brand Denza, with the Festival of Speed not only becoming the reveal platform for two cars globally and one on a European level, but also marking the brand’s official launch in the UK.
Denza is the brand BYD chose to demonstrate its new ultra fast charging system called Flash Charging, enabling cars to be filled with electrons at the same speed as refuelling a combustion car.
The event is no less important for BYD, with one of the smallest models on the stand also among the most significant for UK buyers. The DOLPHIN G DM-i will break into the supermini segment with its DM-i plug-in hybrid technology – unique in the segment – plus class-leading practicality and technology.
YANGWANG will also be present with the U9 Xtreme – the world’s fastest production car – presented on UK soil for the first time. It will be joined by the awe-inspiring U8L, a four-seater luxury SUV which can also swim, plus the U7 executive saloon.
BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li said: “This is more than a product showcase. It is a statement of intent. With eight premieres across three distinct brands, BYD Group is demonstrating how innovation, performance, premium design and sustainability can coexist within one of the most comprehensive automotive portfolios in the world.”
MotorEasy partners with All Broker Services to bring GAP insurance to broker network
CAR ownership solutions provider MotorEasy has partnered with All Broker Services (ABS) to distribute GAP insurance to ABS’s network of 600 insurance brokers. It will enable brokers to offer customers financial protection against shortfalls following an insurance write-off or theft.
The problem was highlighted by Broker News in our feature article Fears consumers are ‘overlooking’ rental risk on latest deals from Chinese car brands.
“The new car market is full of great deals at the moment, particularly from Chinese car brands,” commented Robert Sleat, Head of Leasing Brokers and Telesales at Premia Solutions. “But we’re concerned that consumers are rushing to secure the cheapest leases without a financial safety net should their new car be written-off.”
Andrew Grigor to head aftersales at Farizon
JAMEEL Motors, distributors of the electric van brand Farizon, has appointed Andrew Grigor as its new Head of Aftersales. Grigor will lead Farizon’s aftersales operations, with a focus on maintaining high levels of service delivery across the brand’s nine dealers as it continues to expand its network, as vehicle uptime becomes more pressured.
Reporting directly to Calum James, General Manager of Farizon Auto UK, Grigor will use his extensive experience in commercial vehicle aftersales to bolster Farizon’s nationwide service offering, having spent 11 years at DAF Trucks UK. During this time, Grigor held several senior positions spanning fleet sales, business services and aftersales operations, and most recently served as Aftersales Services Manager.
Grigor commented: “Joining Farizon at such an exciting stage in the brand’s growth is a fantastic opportunity. The business has ambitious plans for the UK market, and I look forward to working with the team to develop the brand’s aftersales footprint.”
