New CEO for Octopus EV

OCTOPUS Electric Vehicles has announced the appointment of Gurjeet Grewal as its new Chief Executive Officer. It follows a period where Gurjeet acted as interim CEO.

Gurjeet was one of the very first employees to join Octopus EV back in 2018, taking on the role of Director of Operations before becoming Chief Operating Officer. Over the past seven years, he has been at the core of the company’s journey – from its early start-up days to becoming one of the UK’s fastest-growing EV businesses.

The Octopus EV fleet has grown from 27,000 to more than 40,000, supported by £1.5 billion in funding from a range of financial institutions, while in June the company launched a pioneering vehicle-to-grid (V2G) partnership with BYD, unlocking a car, charger and unlimited charging at a bundled monthly price. Octopus EV has also launched in Germany.

Fiona Howarth, who founded Octopus EV, will continue as Founder and Director, working closely with Gurjeet and the senior team on strategic partnerships and innovation.
