Chery chooses direct sales for Delivan brand

DELIVAN – Chery’s LCV brand – is to operate via direct sales, according to industry publication AutoSunday.

The new electric van was debuted at the CV Show (main image) and, says AutoSunday, will use a direct sales model that’s similar to Tesla’s method of operation, rather than using retailers.

The Delivan brand was introduced as part of Chery’s Future Super Commercial Vehicle (FSCV) strategy, which said the business is “a new generation of intelligent, purpose-built commercial vehicles for urban logistics, last-mile delivery and fleet operations. It is offering a complete end-to-end solution spanning vehicles, charging, service, telematics and digital programmes, as well as aftermarket, warranty and lifecycle support.”

Delivan said it would concentrate on delivering excellent uptime, configurability for different operational requirements and smart data to help operators reduce TCO.

Iceland Van using Lightfoot app

16% fuel reduction thanks to safety gamification

LIGHTFOOT’s innovative gamification of driving standards has resulted in Iceland Foods reducing its fuel bill by 16%.

Iceland’s delivery drivers have already won more than £34,000 in prizes for driving more safely, saving fuel and providing excellent customer service.

Lightfoot has integrated the programme into its Driver App, allowing drivers to enter the Iceland Road to Rewards (RtR) programme alongside the Lightfoot Lottery, which is open to all eligible drivers through the app.

The retailer has been using Lightfoot in its delivery vehicles since 2023, and since installation it has seen a 16% increase in fuel savings, with more than 1,500 tonnes of carbon emissions reduced annually.

Paul Hollick, CEO of Lightfoot, said: “Iceland is a shining example that your drivers are the fundamental asset in your fleet. If you look after them, keep them safe, manage them well and reward them for doing a great job, they will represent your business brilliantly and power you to further success.”

Paul Hollick was one of the judges in the recent Broker News Awards 2026.
