PEUGEOT is now taking orders for its new 208 supermini, with a £500 deposit putting customers in line to pick their new model. The 208 will come with a choice of 100hp PureTech petrol or BlueHDi diesel engines initially, plus the all-electric e-208, which features a range of more than 200 miles on a charge.

Trim levels will consist of Active, Allure, and GT Line specifications, plus range topping GT trim is added for the e-208. Prices start at £16,250 and £25,050 for the 208 and e-208 respectively, in Active trim. The e-208’s price includes the £3,500 government grant, which it is yet to be approved for, but there are no concerns the model won’t qualify, and approval is expected in October.

Personal Finance Leasing deals will start at £229 per month for the 208 Active, as part of a 48 month contract with £700 initial rental and £6,138 optional final rental. The e-208 Active starts at £289 per month for the same term, with initial rental of £5,450 and optional final rental of £8,978.

David Peel, Managing Director of Peugeot UK said: “We revealed the all-new 208 and e-208 in March and it has seen a fantastic reception from both the public and the press. From April, customers have been able to reserve selected all-new 208 and e-208 models with a refundable £500 deposit, but we are now very excited to open the order books across the whole model range on 22 August.

“The all-new 208 is the first vehicle in Peugeot’s line-up to fulfil the company’s new philosophy of ‘choose your Peugeot, choose your powertrain’. The 208 is also the first model to meet Peugeot’s promise of offering electrified variants across its entire model line-up by 2023.”
