FORMER Founder & Managing Director of Synergy Car Leasing and winner of last year’s Editor’s Award, Paul Parkinson is named Chair of the Broker News Awards judging panel for 2025.
Paul takes over from Jane Pocock, the CEO of Copart Inc UK & Ireland, who stood as Chair for the last two years.
Paul, like Jane before him, is fully independent of the sector now, having sold his Synergy interest fully in October 2023.
But he retains a key interest in what is happening in the leasing broker sector and will bring his experience – both as MD of a brokerage and as previous Chair of the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee – to the Chair’s role for the Broker News Awards.
“I’m absolutely delighted that Paul accepted the Chair role for this year’s Broker News Awards. He did so much in his role as Chair of the BVRLA Leasing Broker Committee to promote the sector making him a natural fit for the Broker News Awards role, which celebrates excellence and the best in this the thriving business community.”
Paul will oversee the independent judging process and adjudicate if necessary, should there be a tie in the scores.

I am looking forward to supporting the highly experienced judging panel and seeing the progress brokers have made over the last year in our dynamic marketplace. May the best businesses win!”
The awards take place on 03 April 2025 at the Orrery restaurant in London’s Marylebone over a celebratory lunch preceded by a champagne reception on the restaurant’s balcony.
Paul’s announcement comes as BYD is revealed as the Headline Partner of the awards, with supporting partners Aval UK, Automotus and Leasing.com.
