Ford has launched its new electric model, and it’s putting plenty of weight behind it. The first time the Mustang badge has been applied to anything but the famous sportscar, the new pure-electric SUV might sound about as far from the traditional Mustang as its possible to get.
There’s been some careful thought to using the Mustang name however, and Ford reckons it’s instilled enough of the Pony car’s characteristics into the family-friendly, coupe-styled SUV.
Driving impressions won’t be available for a while, but having a scan of the specs and taking a look around the car, the Mustang Mach-E looks like a rival for Jaguar’s I-Pace, more than anything else.
