LEASE provider and salary sacrifice specialist SalSac says its new partnership with Pod gives drivers the option to spread the cost of a home EV charger across their vehicle lease term and save hundreds
The partnership with Pod (formerly Pod Point), brings fully funded home charging into the heart of its salary sacrifice proposition for its growing network of over 280 employers across the UK.
For SalSac partners and brokers, the integration of home charging elevates the salary sacrifice conversation, it says. It removes a common hesitation point, enhances the value proposition for employers, and supports wider sustainability and ESG objectives.
Employees can now include an award-winning Pod Point Solo 3S home charger and standard installation within their salary sacrifice arrangement, spreading the cost across the vehicle lease term to make life with an EV more affordable.
Because payments are taken from gross salary, employees benefit from Income Tax and National Insurance savings, typically reducing the effective cost of a fully installed charger to between £500 and £800, depending on tax band.
Crucially, there is no upfront payment in getting a home EV charger through SalSac and Pod, removing one of the typical financial barriers to EV adoption for drivers.
“We’re proud to be partnering with Pod to further strengthen our EV salary sacrifice offering. Pod has an excellent reputation for quality and reliability, and we look forward to working closely together to deliver a seamless, five-star service experience for employees from installation through to ongoing support.”
Richard Quilter, Sales Director, SalSac Tweet
As one of the leading EV charging providers in the UK, Pod has installed over a quarter million chargers to date. Val Geary, VP of Partnerships at Pod, said: “Home charging is central to the EV experience, and as one of the longstanding leaders in the market, we’re bringing Pod’s trust and expertise to SalSac’s customer base to support them through the switch to electric mobility.”
The option to get a home EV charger is now live for SalSac customers, and their employees can choose between a tethered and untethered charger, with no difference in cost, ensuring flexibility based on driver needs. All chargers supplied through SalSac and Pod come with an enhanced five-year warranty covering parts and labour, above the industry-standard three-year retail warranty.
The addition of Pod further strengthens SalSac’s growing partner ecosystem, sitting alongside Lloyd Latchford, who provides SalSac’s motor insurance solution. Employees benefit from a fully supported, end-to-end EV experience, from vehicle insurance to home charging.
