to green motoring and debunking EV myths

SELECT Car Leasing has announced the appointment of Shane Pither (pictured) as the new Head of Select Electric.

The strategic move underscores the company’s dedication to spearheading the transition towards electric vehicles (EVs) and solidifying its position as a frontrunner in the EV leasing market, it said.

Pither, who was formerly Head of Automotive Innovation at Select Car Leasing, brings a wealth of experience to the division which was set up in 2020. He will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the EV customer journey, from providing expert advice on charging infrastructure and energy solutions to helping customers choose the right electric car of van.

“At Select Electric, we are dedicated to inspiring customers to experience the many benefits that electrified vehicles bring, from lower fuel costs and elevated performance to the long term protection of the environment.”

Addressing EV myths and misconceptions

Recognising the need to dispel common misconceptions surrounding EVs, Pither has also spearheaded the release of a comprehensive guide debunking the ‘Top 10 EV Myths.’ This initiative aims to provide clarity and accurate information to customers considering making the switch to electric.

A recent survey conducted by Select Car Leasing revealed that 40% of respondents were seriously considering an EV for their next vehicle, with 44% planning to transition to a battery electric vehicle within the next four years.

“These figures demonstrate a growing interest in EVs,” noted Pither. “Select Electric is committed to bridging the knowledge gap and empowering customers with the information they need to make informed decisions about EV adoption.”

Driving the electric vehicle agenda

Mark Tongue, Joint CEO and founder of Select Car Leasing, highlighted the significance of the Head of Select Electric’s role in advancing the company’s EV strategy. “Shane’s expertise and leadership will be instrumental in driving our EV agenda forward and strengthening our partnerships within the industry,” said Tongue.
