SCOTT Norville, Managing Director of Silverstone Leasing and his sister Gemma, pictured, completed the Northampton Half Marathon on Sunday.
The pair ran the 13.1 mile distance on the 15th September in aid of
Cynthia Spencer Hospice. Based in Northampton, the hospice is Silverstone Leasing’s charity of choice – it provides specialist care and support for patients and their families dealing with life-limiting illnesses.
Scott and Gemma completed the run in 2 hours and 38 minutes, particularly impressive as Gemma was suffering from a cough and cold. The duo had to adjust their pace and strategy accordingly, as well as dealing with tricky weather conditions. Scott said that the support from the crowd helped get them over the line, he explained:
‘Despite the unexpected challenges and my sister’s illness, crossing the finish line and raising over £1,000 for Cynthia Spencer Hospice was an incredible achievement. The support and energy from the crowd made every step worthwhile.’
The half marathon will further bolster Silverstone Leasing’s fundraising efforts for the Hospice, adding to the £3,000 raised at its Silverstone Soccer event in June. Scott and Gemma’s JustGiving page remains open for donations here, for anyone wishing to add to the Hospice total.
