POTENTIAL Tesla owners can now remotely book a test drive of cars at Silverstone Leasing’s new self-serve test-drive station.
Drivers wanting to try out the Tesla Model 3 or Model Y can now visit Silverstone’s Preston Deanery village base in Northamptonshire and take the cars out independently.
Bookings are made directly through the Tesla website or app, where customers choose a one-hour slot before receiving clear instructions by email and text on how to access the vehicles. On arrival, they unlock the chosen car using a smartphone and head out for an unaccompanied drive.
Scott Norville, Managing Director of Silverstone Leasing, said: “The early response has been excellent. Becoming an official Tesla Partner has allowed us to offer something genuinely different, and the reaction from customers has already shown this was the right decision.
“People value how simple and stress free the self-serve process is, and it has brought a wave of new interest through our doors. The level of engagement at this early stage shows how strong the appetite is for Tesla, and how well this model fits with the way customers want to shop for their next car.
“Customers are personally greeted at the Self-Serve Station and offered a hot drink, while after the drive there is always someone available to answer questions, compare models and go through the funding options available through Silverstone Leasing. This creates a smooth journey from test drive to order, with the reassurance of expert guidance.”
Local businesses are also invited to test drive the cars.
