SELLING used EVs will be among the topics covered by speakers at the2026 AGM of the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA), being held on Thursday 2 July at BCA Birmingham.

Omar Mirza and Kevin Lamb from Alvarez and Marsal will present a scene-setting overview of the UK economy, comparing it with other markets and highlighting current automotive investment trends, financial risks, and sector challenges.

Graham Filmer of Rocket Associates will then discuss the current motor finance landscape, focusing on which providers are negatively affected by the FCA redress scheme, and which will benefit, as well as its impact on finance options and products.

Finally, Fraser Brown from MotorVise will review the latest in motor retail, sharing insights on selling electric vehicles, lead generation trends, consumer behaviour, and market conditions.

All three speakers will then take part in a discussion panel, providing delegates with the opportunity to pose questions.

A variety of AGM requirements under the VRA’s articles of association will also be fulfilled, including a report on the organisation’s activities over the last year, plans for the future, an explanation of the latest financial accounts, and the election of one-third of the current board of directors.

Philip Nothard, chair at the VRA, said: “AGMs are an important focal point for any industry body, providing a transparent view of how the organisation is managed and the direction it is taking, as well as creating a forum for discussion.

“However, we also see this as a valuable opportunity to present insightful, thought-provoking information to our members, delivering a kind of state-of-the-nation address to those who attend.”

He added that the AGM was an excellent opportunity for people from across the automotive and remarketing sectors to find out more about the VRA.

“The VRA is an ever more vibrant body, with member numbers increasing and rising attendance at our meetings. If you work in remarketing, membership is a must.”
