AS widely expected, the new UK-built Nissan Leaf will qualify for the full £3,750 discount from the Government’s Electric Car Grant.
The Sunderland-built Nissan qualifies for its high local content. Including the grant, prices will now start at £32,249 and deliveries start in February 2026. The Leaf is the fourth car to qualify for the full (Band 1) grant, the others being the Ford Puma Gen-e, Citroën ë-C5 Aircross Long Range and Ford E-Tourneo Courier.
The move brings the total number of eligible models under the ECG to 39, and the Department for Transport says that over 35,000 drivers have already used the grant since it launched in July.
