SYNERGY Car Leasing has announced a strategic partnership with Harrogate Town AFC, bolstering the club’s successful Kick Back Scheme. The collaboration underscores Harrogate-based leasing broker’s commitment to community engagement and grassroots sports development.
The Kick Back Scheme, a cornerstone of Harrogate Town AFC’s community outreach, forges strong links between the professional club and local junior football clubs across the Harrogate District. The initiative provides vital support, offering complimentary match day tickets to every league fixture, making professional football more accessible to young players. Moreover, partner clubs benefit from a 20% cashback incentive on additional ticket sales, enabling them to reinvest in essential resources such as kit, transport, and training equipment.
The free-to-join scheme not only facilitates access to live football but also creates a clear pathway for aspiring young talents to connect with their local professional club. Players are given opportunities to meet Harrogate Town AFC players and staff, fostering a sense of belonging and inspiration.
“Synergy is delighted to support Harrogate Town’s Kick Back Scheme. It’s a perfect fit for us, given the strong involvement of our team and their families in grassroots youth football.”

He further emphasised Synergy’s long-standing commitment to the local community, saying, “As a Harrogate-based business with almost 20 years of trading, we’re committed to positively impacting the communities around us, and the Kick Back Scheme is the perfect opportunity for us to do so. We are keen to see this great initiative develop further, giving more young people the chance to access football and provide resources and equipment.”
Sarah Barry, CEO of Harrogate Town AFC, highlighted the scheme’s impact, noting, “We have over 4,000 young people playing football across the District, and this number is growing, with more girls playing than ever before. The scheme was designed to support local Grassroots Clubs financially and to grow the number of first-generation Supporters.
“Our aim is to support the clubs and the many dedicated people who are driving the Clubs week in week out. These wonderful people are passionate volunteers who work tirelessly both on the pitch with coaching and league games and off it with fundraising events to help finance the clubs. We are also focused on bringing on local talent through our partner clubs to Harrogate Town AFC and see them play for their Home Town at some point in the future.”
Synergy Car Leasing has also provided Harrogate Town AFC with an electric vehicle. This initiative not only supports the club’s logistical needs, facilitating travel for staff across the country, but also aligns with the club’s environmental goals. By reducing emissions across thousands of miles travelled, the partnership is actively contributing to a lower carbon footprint.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in fostering community engagement and supporting the development of grassroots football in the Harrogate District.
