- Nearly 60% uplift in enquiries year-on-year
- Hyundai topped the table with most interest
- Ford Explorer deals proved enticing
- Jaecoo continues February’s good form
IT was a bumper March at Leasing.com. Some great deals from leasing brokers and the new registration plate drove PCH interest to a staggering 59% higher than the same month last year.
The same spike in retail interest was also seen in the March registration figures, up by 14.5%, thanks to a variety of March offers that helped stimulate March sales.
“Enticing new car offers from leasing brokers bought consumers out in their droves on Leasing.com in the important plate-change month of March. As you can see from our top five league table, Hyundai, Vauxhall and Nissan enjoyed a particularly successful month but Ford, Peugeot and newcomers such as Jaecoo also excelled.”
Paul Harrison, Chief Partnerships Officer at Leasing.com Tweet
According to the Leasing.com data, consumers were drawn to PCH offers with a 12-month initial rental, a two-year term and a 5,000 annual mileage allowance with monthly average payments of £310.
“Electric car interest took 23% of all PCH enquiries while for the first-time petrol’s enquiry share dropped below 50%,” added Harrison.
Market watch special: Ford Explorer
Ford’s electric medium SUV struck the right note with consumers in March and is rapidly building its presence on the UK’s roads as a result. Rentals started from £234 per month.
